Antonio Marcio
I completed a BA in Languages and Linguistics (Portuguese/ English) in Brazil, where I qualified as a teacher. In the UK, I have completed an MRes dissertation entitled Brazilian Women in Prison (WIP) Film: a Gendered Reading at the University of Leeds and am completing a PhD entitled The Femme Fatale in Brazilian Cinema at the University of Bristol. I have been formally teaching since February 1998. I taught Portuguese, Literature and English in Brazil until 2003. In the UK I have been teaching Portuguese since 2004 and also Brazilian and Lusophone Cinema, Culture, Music, History and Literature. I am currently teaching at Birkbeck University of London and have also taught at different English universities, including: University of Bristol, University of Kent, Imperial College London and University of Oxford. I have also coordinated language courses at Cactus Language Training and now at Birkbeck University. Additionally, I have been a Portuguese examiner for the Institute of Linguistics in London and currently examine for the British Foreign Commonwealth Office (FCO).
